About Us
Mission Statement: To share our knowledge and passion for great food and wine in a way that is both entertaining and educational.
Howdy food fans,
I'm Michael Rogers the principle founder of Seattle Food Tours a company dedicated to the enjoyment of Seattle's culinary culture. I've been living in Seattle for 17 years now and working as an inbound tour operator for over 12 years. Previously I worked in restaurants from Seattle to Miami (literally), along the way I spent an invaluable year in the kitchen as a chef's apprentice in a four star restaurant. My love for food can be traced to my grandmother whose cooking taught me that it is not always about the best ingredients, precision and the latest trends, but more about expressing yourself, and cooking from the heart.

About the Pike Place Market:
According to famed Seattle chef, restaurateur and businessman Tom Douglas, The Pike Place Market is the "heart and soul of food in Seattle." Opened in 1907 as a venue for farmers to sell their goods directly to the public, The Market is today an outlet for craftspeople, merchants, artists, performers and of course still farmers to sell what they have to offer. Overlooking Seattle's Elliott Bay, The Pike Place Market is now one of the oldest operated public farmers' markets in the United States and it is visited by an estimated 10 million people each year.
About Belltown
Once a low-rent, semi-industrial arts district, Belltown has transformed in recent decades into Downtown Seattle's epicenter of trendy restaurants, boutiques, nightclubs and residential condo towers. The neighborhood has rich history that goes back to the founding of Seattle. William Nathaniel Bell was a member of the Denny Party, the first group of white settlers that landed in Seattle, and the land that is now his namesake is where he staked his claim.
